Jade is a highly traditional stone in many East Asian cultures. Traditionally seen in green hues, a sub-type of Nephrite Jade comes in a beautiful creamy white, sometimes called Mutton Jade. Our White Jade has a creamy under hue, and some pairs can have subtle tones of peach, pink, and yellow. Jade was considered the imperial gem of china, and historically was valued similarly to gold and diamonds in the west. There were six ritual jades used for certain religious rites, and gentleman always wore jade pendants. According to Shu Wen compiled by Hsu Shen of the Eastern Han, the five virtues of jade were: benevolence, integrity, intelligence, bravery, trustworthiness which were exactly those expected of a gentleman.
